Meet Arya: Chief Drama Officer
I'm Arya, rescue Staffy, professional parcel inspector and the four-legged member of Kate's Treasures15.
Technically, Kate runs the business. I prefer to think of it as a joint operation where she does the work and I provide supervision, emotional support and regular reminders that breaks should involve snacks.
I have a big personality, seventeen tennis balls and very strong opinions about where everybody should sit. I also follow my humans from room to room, inspect suspicious carrier bags and occasionally retreat from the hoover for entirely sensible reasons.
How I Joined the Family
On 22 December 2024, I came home with Kate and her family.
I was a rescue dog looking for somewhere safe, settled and properly mine.
I found it.
These days I sleep on the furniture, accompany Kate whenever possible and consider almost every household activity something that requires my personal involvement. Apparently I can be dramatic. I have reviewed the evidence and rejected the allegation.
You will find me throughout the website in photographs, occasional reviews and little bits of commentary. I also take parcel inspection very seriously, although Kate insists that sitting beside a cardboard box does not technically count as quality control.
My main responsibilities are adding a bit of personality to the shop, making people smile and ensuring no tennis ball remains unsupervised for too long.
From Rescue Dog to Rosettes
One of my proudest moments was winning 2nd Place Best Rescue at a local dog show.
I have since taken part in more dog-show adventures, although apparently these events involve standing nicely, looking in the correct direction and resisting the temptation to investigate everything around me. Nobody mentioned that when I agreed to participate.
The Staffy Behind the Stereotype
Staffordshire Bull Terriers and rescue dogs can sometimes be judged before anybody has taken the time to know them.
I am affectionate, loyal, sensitive, stubborn, funny and extremely committed to being wherever my humans happen to be.
A rescue dog is not defined by what happened before they found their home. We all have our own personalities, quirks, fears and favourite things.
If somebody visits Kate's Treasures15, sees me being my ridiculous little self and leaves thinking a little differently about Staffies or rescue dogs, I consider that a job well done.
My story is one of the reasons rescue matters so much to the family behind Kate's Treasures15.
The business is proud to support Arundawn Dog Rescue and to help raise awareness around rescue dogs, responsible ownership and the second chances every dog deserves.
We also love getting involved in rescue-related events, dog shows, photoshoots and other opportunities that celebrate rescue dogs for the wonderful individuals they are.
Sometimes that means Arya taking centre stage. Sometimes it means sharing the spotlight with other rescue dogs and helping their stories be seen too.
