Why the Charity Button Disappeared — The Full Story

Right darlings, I want to be completely open with you about something you may have noticed — our charity donation button has disappeared from our product pages.

Here’s the honest truth behind it: because we support two incredible dog rescues — Arundawn Dog Rescue and Clymping Dog Sanctuary — the technical side of splitting donations automatically just wasn’t working out.

The charity apps and plugins we tried to use either didn’t support splitting the donations between two charities, or they charged fees that meant less money actually reached the rescues. Sometimes the button would show confusing messages, or not appear at all for some customers, which led to questions and uncertainty.

Because of this, we made the conscious decision to remove the charity button entirely and instead handle all donations manually. This means we collect the full 20% from every order, then split and send the donations ourselves directly to Arundawn and Clymping via secure PayPal or bank transfers.

Why manual? Because it’s the only way we can guarantee that 100% of the promised donations reach the charities without any fees or technical glitches eating into the funds. It also means we can track, document, and share proof of every donation, so you know exactly where your kindness is going.

We want to be clear that all donations up to now have been paid in full — every penny has been worked out and sent to the relevant charities exactly as promised. So, we’re starting fresh with a new, simpler system to make things easier for everyone.

Previously, we were paying donations on the 20th of each month, but going forward, starting January 1st, donations will be paid monthly on the 1st of the month. This new schedule will include any commissions we receive from our affiliate partners, allowing us to send one combined payment instead of multiple smaller ones.

To give you an idea of our impact, for November alone, we donated £55 — including affiliate commissions to both Arundawn and Clymping Dog Sanctuary. That’s just the start, and with your continued support, we aim to grow these donations every month.

We know some of you may have been used to seeing the button and wondering where it went. We want to assure you: the donation commitment is stronger than ever. Every order still donates 10% to Arundawn and 10% to Clymping, that’s 20% of every purchase going directly to save and support rescue dogs.

This change also means there’s no more confusion at checkout about which charity your donation goes to, or customers accidentally splitting donations unevenly. It’s simpler, cleaner, and more transparent,  just how we like it.
