This copy comes from my dad's personal collection. Dad was an actor and scriptwriter with a genuine love of world cinema, independent film and memorable performances. His collection remains an important part of Kate's Treasures15, with each title now looking for a new home where it can continue to be appreciated.

Directed by Krzysztof Kieslowski, A Short Film About Love follows Tomek, a lonely young man who secretly watches Magda from the apartment opposite. What begins as distant fascination gradually develops into a complicated encounter between two people with very different understandings of love, intimacy and vulnerability.

Featuring Grażyna Szapołowska and Olaf Lubaszenko, the film avoids easy judgement and sentiment, allowing glances, silences and small gestures to reveal the emotional isolation beneath both characters and the painful distance between longing for connection and knowing how to accept it.
