Beauty and the Beast Complete Series DVD Box Set
A richly atmospheric fantasy drama starring Linda Hamilton and Ron Perlman, following two people divided by different worlds but connected through loyalty, understanding and an extraordinary emotional bond.
This copy comes from my dad's personal collection. Dad was an actor and scriptwriter with a genuine love of character led television, distinctive performances and fantasy stories made believable through atmosphere and emotion. His collection remains an important part of Kate's Treasures15, with each title now looking for a new home where it can continue to be appreciated.
Created by Ron Koslow, Beauty and the Beast stars Linda Hamilton as Catherine Chandler, a successful New York lawyer whose life changes after she is brutally attacked and rescued by Vincent, played by Ron Perlman.
Vincent is a powerful and compassionate man with leonine features who lives within a secret community hidden beneath New York City. As Catherine recovers, she discovers that the two share an unusual emotional connection that allows Vincent to sense when she is frightened or in danger.
Their relationship develops despite the physical and social barriers separating the world above from Vincent's underground home, a candlelit community of tunnels, libraries and hidden chambers led by Father, played by Roy Dotrice.
Hamilton brings intelligence, warmth and determination to Catherine, while Perlman gives Vincent remarkable sensitivity and dignity. Around their central relationship, the series blends romance and fantasy with crime stories, mystery, poetry and the lives of those who have found refuge beneath the city.
This complete collection brings together all three seasons and all 55 episodes, allowing Catherine and Vincent's story to be followed from their first meeting through the full journey of the original television series.
A wonderful addition for collectors of classic fantasy television, Linda Hamilton and Ron Perlman performances, and character driven drama filled with romance, mystery and emotional depth.
