Casino 2-Disc Special Edition DVD

Robert De Niro, Sharon Stone and Joe Pesci lead Martin Scorsese's intense Las Vegas crime drama about money, power, organised crime and the collapse of a carefully controlled empire.

From Dad's Collection

This copy comes from my dad's personal collection. Dad was an actor and scriptwriter with a genuine love of world cinema, independent film and memorable performances. His collection remains an important part of Kate's Treasures15, with each title now looking for a new home where it can continue to be appreciated.

Directed by Martin Scorsese, Casino stars Robert De Niro as Sam “Ace” Rothstein, a gambling expert sent to Las Vegas to oversee the Tangiers casino for organised crime interests.

Ace runs the casino with precision and obsessive attention to detail, but his carefully managed world begins to unravel through his relationship with Ginger McKenna, played by Sharon Stone, and the increasingly violent behaviour of his childhood friend Nicky Santoro.

Joe Pesci gives Nicky a volatile and unpredictable presence, while Stone delivers a powerful performance as Ginger, whose life becomes increasingly shaped by addiction, money and destructive relationships.

As wealth and influence grow, loyalty gives way to jealousy, paranoia and betrayal, leaving the people at the centre of the operation unable to control the consequences of their own choices.

A relentless crime drama driven by commanding performances and Scorsese's examination of power, greed and the people who believe their position can never be taken away.

Arya's Approval

There is money everywhere, nobody knows when to stop and every calm conversation looks seconds away from becoming a criminal emergency. I reviewed the management structure and have several concerns.
