Hidden Agenda DVD

Ken Loach's gripping political thriller stars Frances McDormand and Brian Cox in a story where the investigation of a murder exposes secrecy, corruption and the dangerous machinery of power.

From Dad's Collection

This copy comes from my dad's personal collection. Dad was an actor and scriptwriter with a genuine love of intelligent political drama, grounded performances and films prepared to question those in authority. His collection remains an important part of Kate's Treasures15, with each title now looking for a new home where it can continue to be appreciated.

Directed by Ken Loach and written by Jim Allen, Hidden Agenda stars Frances McDormand as American human rights investigator Ingrid Jessner. When her colleague Paul Sullivan, played by Brad Dourif, is murdered in Northern Ireland, she becomes determined to uncover what happened.

British police investigator Peter Kerrigan, portrayed by Brian Cox, is assigned to examine the killing. Their search for answers leads towards a recording containing potentially explosive information and allegations involving the security services and powerful political figures.

Loach allows the tension to emerge through guarded conversations, conflicting accounts and the growing fear that the truth may never be permitted to surface. Frances McDormand and Brian Cox bring restraint and conviction to a thriller shaped by political violence, intimidation and institutional secrecy.

A compelling addition for collectors of Ken Loach films, British political cinema and intelligent conspiracy thrillers exploring justice, corruption and the abuse of authority.
