From Dad's Collection

This copy comes from my dad's personal collection. Dad was an actor and scriptwriter with a genuine love of world cinema, independent film and memorable performances. His collection remains an important part of Kate's Treasures15, with each title now looking for a new home where it can continue to be appreciated.

Directed by Andrew Stanton and based on the stories by Edgar Rice Burroughs, John Carter follows a former Confederate soldier who is mysteriously transported to Barsoom, a version of Mars divided by conflict and inhabited by extraordinary creatures and rival civilisations.

Featuring Taylor Kitsch and Lynn Collins, the film sees Carter's unexpected abilities draw him into a war he initially wants no part of. His growing connection with warrior princess Dejah Thoris forces him to decide whether to remain detached or fight for a world that is beginning to matter to him.

An entertaining collector title for admirers of Edgar Rice Burroughs, large scale science fiction adventure and imaginative fantasy worlds, with both 3D and standard 2D presentations included.

One minute John is on Earth and the next he is on Mars, leaping enormous distances and being chased by creatures with far too many legs. I would have requested an immediate journey home, but apparently staying for the interplanetary drama was more appealing.
