From Dad's Collection

This copy comes from my dad's personal collection. Dad was an actor and scriptwriter with a genuine love of world cinema, independent film and memorable performances. His collection remains an important part of Kate's Treasures15, with each title now looking for a new home where it can continue to be appreciated.

Directed by David Hemmings, Just a Gigolo stars David Bowie as Paul Ambrosius von Przygodski, a Prussian officer returning to Berlin after the First World War and discovering a society transformed by defeat, poverty and political uncertainty.

Featuring David Bowie and Sydne Rome, the film follows Paul into Berlin's nightlife as he searches for a place within this unfamiliar world and becomes a companion to wealthy women. With appearances from Kim Novak and Marlene Dietrich, the story combines faded glamour with loneliness, social change and an atmosphere of quiet melancholy.

An unusual collector title for admirers of David Bowie, European cinema and reflective historical drama, presented in a limited edition with the film on Blu-ray and an accompanying soundtrack CD.
