This copy comes from my dad's personal collection. Dad was an actor and scriptwriter with a genuine love of cinema, memorable performances and intelligent films that trusted their audience. His collection remains an important part of Kate's Treasures15, with each title now looking for a new home where it can continue to be appreciated.

Directed by Denis Villeneuve, Prisoners begins when two young girls disappear during a family gathering. With little evidence and time running out, Detective Loki, played by Jake Gyllenhaal, begins a painstaking investigation.

Hugh Jackman stars as Keller Dover, a desperate father who becomes convinced that the person responsible has been allowed to walk free. Fear and anger drive him towards his own search for answers, taking him across increasingly troubling moral boundaries.

Villeneuve builds the tension slowly, allowing grief, suspicion and obsession to shape every decision. Viola Davis, Maria Bello, Terrence Howard and Paul Dano complete a strong ensemble cast in a thriller where the search for justice becomes increasingly complicated.
