Prisoners of War Season 1 DVD 3-Disc Set
A tense Israeli drama following two soldiers as they return home after years in captivity and discover that survival is only the beginning of what they must face.
This copy comes from my dad's personal collection. Dad was an actor and scriptwriter with a genuine love of world cinema, independent film and memorable performances. His collection remains an important part of Kate's Treasures15, with each title now looking for a new home where it can continue to be appreciated.
Created by Gideon Raff, Prisoners of War, originally titled Hatufim, follows Israeli soldiers Nimrode Klein and Uri Zach after they return home following seventeen years in captivity.
Their release is celebrated publicly, but returning alive does not mean returning unchanged. Their families have spent years grieving and rebuilding their lives, while Nimrode and Uri must adjust to a world that moved on without them.
As military investigators begin questioning gaps and inconsistencies in their accounts, memories of captivity surface in fragmented and disturbing ways. The absence of fellow soldier Amiel Ben-Horin also raises questions about what happened and why only two men returned.
The series builds its tension slowly through damaged relationships, difficult conversations and the psychological effects of prolonged captivity rather than relying solely on action.
A thoughtful psychological drama about trauma, memory, family and the complicated reality of trying to come home after years away.
