This copy comes from my dad's personal collection. Dad was an actor and scriptwriter with a genuine love of world cinema, independent film and memorable performances. His collection remains an important part of Kate's Treasures15, with each title now looking for a new home where it can continue to be appreciated.

Directed by Henri-Georges Clouzot, Quai des Orfèvres follows music-hall singer Jenny Lamour, whose ambition and flirtation provoke the jealousy of her devoted husband, Maurice. When a wealthy acquaintance is found murdered, suspicion quickly closes around the couple and those closest to them.

Starring Suzy Delair and Louis Jouvet, the film moves beyond a straightforward murder mystery to become a study of fear, loyalty, jealousy and moral compromise, with Inspector Antoine quietly observing as secrets begin to unravel.

An excellent addition for collectors of Henri-Georges Clouzot films, classic French cinema, film noir and character-driven psychological drama.
