The Company Men DVD
Ben Affleck, Tommy Lee Jones and Chris Cooper lead this thoughtful drama about job loss, identity and rebuilding a life when professional security suddenly disappears.
This copy comes from my dad's personal collection. Dad was an actor and scriptwriter with a genuine love of cinema, strong performances and stories rooted in real human experience. His collection remains an important part of Kate's Treasures15, with each title now looking for a new home where it can continue to be appreciated.
Written and directed by John Wells, The Company Men follows several employees whose lives are changed when corporate restructuring leads to sudden redundancies. Each is forced to confront what remains when career, financial security and professional status can no longer be taken for granted.
Ben Affleck stars as Bobby Walker, an executive whose confidence is shaken when the comfortable life supported by his career begins to unravel. As financial pressure and repeated rejection take their toll, he must reconsider what success means and accept help from those around him.
Tommy Lee Jones and Chris Cooper give equally strong performances as experienced men facing their own anger, fear and uncertainty, while Kevin Costner and Maria Bello complete an impressive ensemble cast.
A thoughtful sealed drama for viewers who appreciate strong performances and stories about family, resilience, pride and finding a new sense of purpose.
