This copy comes from my dad's personal collection. Dad was an actor and scriptwriter with a genuine love of world cinema, independent film and memorable performances. His collection remains an important part of Kate's Treasures15, with each title now looking for a new home where it can continue to be appreciated.
Directed by Robert Rae, The Happy Lands is inspired by the events surrounding the 1926 General Strike and follows families within a Scottish mining community as work, income and security begin to disappear.
