The Passenger DVD
Brand new and sealed. Michelangelo Antonioni's atmospheric psychological drama starring Jack Nicholson in one of his most restrained and thoughtful performances.
This copy comes from my dad's personal collection. Dad was an actor and scriptwriter with a genuine love of cinema, memorable performances and directors with a distinctive creative voice. His collection remains an important part of Kate's Treasures15, with each title now looking for a new home where it can continue to be appreciated.
Directed by Michelangelo Antonioni, The Passenger stars Jack Nicholson as David Locke, a weary journalist travelling in North Africa who impulsively assumes the identity of a dead stranger in the hope of leaving his own life behind.
As Locke continues across Europe with a mysterious young woman, played by Maria Schneider, he begins to discover that the identity he has borrowed carries dangers and consequences he could never have anticipated.
Antonioni turns the premise into a meditative exploration of identity, isolation, escape and fate, using striking locations and carefully composed imagery to create a film that rewards close attention.
An excellent sealed title for admirers of Michelangelo Antonioni, Jack Nicholson and intelligent, visually distinctive cinema.
