The Rolling Stones Rare and Unseen DVD

A fascinating collection of rare archive footage, restored television reports and revealing interviews tracing the personalities, attitude and extraordinary rise of The Rolling Stones.

Some treasures at Kate's Treasures15 are chosen because they are beautiful or useful. Others are here because they belonged to my dad and formed part of a collection shaped by his genuine love of cinema, unforgettable performances and the craft of filmmaking.

Dad was an actor and scriptwriter with a deep appreciation for the performers, personalities and cultural moments that changed entertainment forever. His collection included music documentaries that went beyond familiar songs to explore the character, history and creative energy behind some of the world’s most influential artists.

The Rolling Stones: Rare and Unseen tells the story of one of rock music’s most enduring bands through original film, archive television footage, newsreels, private photographs and firsthand recollections.

The documentary reaches back to the band’s early years, when their raw rhythm-and-blues sound, rebellious image and refusal to behave like conventional pop stars helped reshape British music and establish them as a defining force in rock and roll.

Included material features unseen interview footage from Belfast in 1964, rare appearances from individual members of the band and reports once believed to have been lost. Mick Jagger discusses responsibility and the law, while Keith Richards, Bill Wyman, Charlie Watts, Ronnie Wood and the late Brian Jones appear through interviews, archive clips and personal footage.

Rather than presenting a conventional concert film or collection of promotional performances, this documentary offers a more informal view of the people behind the music and the changing world through which the band built its extraordinary career.

A compelling addition for collectors of The Rolling Stones, British rock history and music documentaries offering rare glimpses behind one of the most recognisable and influential bands of all time.

Arya's Approval
Right darlings... this is proper rock-and-roll history told through footage and interviews that feel far less polished than the usual official story. The attitude, confidence and personalities are all there, along with moments that show how The Rolling Stones became far more than simply another band. Fascinating viewing for anyone who wants to see beyond the stage lights.
