War Games DVD

A brutal survival horror in which a recreational combat game in the wilderness becomes a terrifying fight for survival when simulated danger turns frighteningly real.

From Dad's Collection

This copy comes from my dad's personal collection. Dad was an actor and scriptwriter with a genuine love of cinema, atmosphere and films that placed ordinary people under extraordinary pressure. His collection remains an important part of Kate's Treasures15, with each title now looking for a new home where it can continue to be appreciated.

Directed by Cosimo Alemà, War Games follows a group of friends who head into the countryside for a recreational combat game, armed with imitation weapons and expecting nothing more dangerous than competition between themselves.

Their adventure changes completely when they discover a remote building and encounter three paranoid former soldiers. What began as staged combat becomes horrifyingly real as the group finds itself hunted through isolated woodland by men who appear to treat violence as entertainment.

Separated, frightened and increasingly unsure who can be trusted, the friends are forced to abandon the rules of the game and concentrate entirely on survival. The remote setting becomes steadily more threatening as panic replaces excitement and every decision carries potentially deadly consequences.

Stephanie Chapman-Baker, Sam Cohan, Valene Kane, Neil Linpow and Andrew Harwood Mills lead the ensemble cast in a film built around pursuit, paranoia and the frightening collapse of safety.

A strong addition for collectors of survival horror, wilderness thrillers and psychological films where a harmless game becomes terrifyingly real.
