Right darlings… a Buddha. Grinning. Fifty centimetres tall. Looking like he's never once worried about anything. Must be nice. I worry about everything. The postman. The cat next door. Whether dinner is coming. Whether dinner is coming fast enough. This guy? Nothing. Just vibes. The whitewash finish is very coastal which tracks because we live by the sea. I know coastal. I've done the beach walks. I've inspected the seaweed. I'm qualified to comment. Handcarved in Bali so each one is unique. Like me. Except he's calm and I'm dramatic. Different approaches to life. Both valid. He sits there radiating joy. I sit there radiating opinions. Five paws for a statue that reminds humans to stop overthinking everything.
